Biogeochemistry deals with how biological and geochemical processes
affect element cycles in Nature, considering both space and time.
Our group focuses on modeling of biogeochemical cycles in terrestrial
ecosystems, with emphasis on the effects of air pollution on soil
and water acidification and nutrient cycling. Systems analysis
and systems thinking is used through all projects. The Biogeochemistry
Group is part of the department of Chemical
Engineering.
